CBS's Logan assumes presidency of one-woman cult of personality

Lara Logan, the self-styled Angelina Jolie of foreign correspondents, has her personal priorities straight: hubris first, news second. The Washington Post's Howard Kurtz profiles the CBS reporter who recently told Elle magazine that when she's in the field, her crew hates her because she stays beautiful in the crud. (I'm not kidding. She told the interviewer that "after a few days the crew was looking at me with hatred...but I did it with Wet Wipes!")
In a business always on the lookout for the next star, [Bob] Schieffer sees Logan, who remains a "60 Minutes" contributor, headed for bigger things. "Once people get used to her South African accent -- and they will -- she can just slide right into an anchor chair," he says.
Logan insists she has "absolutely no interest" in being tied to an anchor desk, but she doesn't lack for ambition: "I aspire to be as legendary on '60 Minutes' as Mike Wallace."
There's a difference: Mike Wallace doesn't call himself a legend, even though he can.
