Jon Stewart had this to say about all the pearl-clutching Stephen Colbert's speech caused at the WH Correspondents Dinner Saturday night, as Editor & Publisher reports:
"Apparently [Colbert] was under the impression that they'd hired him to do what he does every night on television"--that is, make fun of conservatives, public officials and the press in the guise of an O'Reillyesque talk show host.
I'll say it again: the WHCA knew what they were in for by putting Colbert on stage with the President. They just didn't care.
