Time to sell your Disney/ABC stock...

FTVLive (subscription) is hearing that the most incompetent executive in cable news is pitching himself to be the next executive producer of Good Morning America:

Current EP Ben Sherwood announced last week that he was leaving the show in October and the rumor mill quickly started firing on all cylinders as to who would replace him.

Tammy Haddad, the executive producer of Hardball with Chris Matthews on MSNBC is supposed to be on the short list of possible candidates.

One tipster tells TVNewser that former NBC boss Neal Shapiro could also be in line for the gig.

But, the wildest rumor that FTVLive has heard is that MSNBC boss Rick Kaplan is looking to get the gig.

As FTVLive has reported, Kaplan is expected to get the kiss off from NBC when his contract expires this Winter and he will need to start looking for a new job.

Word is that Kapln is quietly pitching himself for the GMA gig.

If Kaplan really ends up bringing his reverse-Midas touch to ABC...well, time to unload your Disney/ABC stock.
