Terry Moran's Couch Trip

At yesterday's White House press conference, ABC's Terry Moran said that Fox is a "surrogate" for the WH:
Moran: "Well, Fox News and other Republican surrogates are essentially saying that the conversation [between Time mag reporter Matt Cooper and Karl Rove] lasted for two minutes and that the subject was ostensibly welfare reform. They're getting that information from here, from Karl Rove."
Fox is big enough to defend itself, but a look over at the Media Research Center--http://www.mrc.org/--reveals that Terry Moran is an out-and-out Bush basher, and pretty much in service to the Democratic Party and the Left. There's a term for this in psychiatry: projecting.
"Psychological projection (or projection bias) can be defined as unconsciously assuming that others share the same or similar thoughts, beliefs, values, or positions on any given subject. According to the theories of Sigmund Freud, it is a psychological defense mechanism whereby one "projects" one's own undesirable thoughts, motivations, desires, feelings -- basically parts of oneself -- onto someone else (usually another person, but psychological projection onto animals and inanimate objects also occurs). The principle of projection is well-established in psychology."
A few examples of how Moran is actually a surrogate , not Fox? No problem--
Moran comes out swinging over treatment of detainees at Gitmo:
"ABC Denounces "Illegal Interrogation Techniques" at Guantanamo In what the network touted as an "ABC News Exclusive," Wednesday's World News Tonight devoted a full story to two-year-old memos, which in the words of anchor Charles Gibson, 'indicate interrogation techniques at Guantanamo might be illegal.' Terry Moran quoted from one Navy lawyer's memo and then how 'a Navy psychologist observing the interrogation of Mohammed al-Qahtani, dubbed 'the twentieth hijacker,' warned that the tactics used against him revealed 'a tendency to become increasingly more aggressive without having any definitive boundary.'" Earlier, at the White House briefing, referring to the Geneva Convention, Moran demanded that Scott McClellan respond to how 'it says, no physical or mental torture. Is dropping water on the head, keeping them up all night, making them stand, is that consistent with your laws? It is consistent with the Geneva Convention, saying no physical or mental torture?' Left unsaid: al-Qaeda never agreed to the Geneva Convention's rules."
Moran tells President Bush that America sucks under his leadership:
"Moran Gives Credibility to "Gulag" Description of Guantanamo At Tuesday morning's presidential news conference in the Rose Garden, ABC's Terry Moran gave credibility to Amnesty International's characterization of the detainee camp at Guantanamo as a 'gulag.' In his question, Moran proceeded to demand to know 'how it came to this,' as Moran presumed it 'is a view not just held by extremists and anti-Americans, but by groups that have allied themselves with the United States government in the past' and that 'in many places in the world the United States these days, under your leadership, is no longer seen as the good guy.'"
And, finally, pretty much admits the media is in service to the Democrats:
"Moran: Media Have 'Anti-Military Bias,' 70% at WH Voted for Kerry ....Moran also conceded: 'There is, Hugh, I agree with you, a deep anti-military bias in the media. One that begins from the premise that the military must be lying, and that American projection of power around the world must be wrong.' Moran revealed that some 'big fish' in the White House press corps 'hate' President Bush and, pressed about what percent of the White House press corps voted for John Kerry, Moran pegged it as 'upwards of 70, maybe higher.'"
Terry Moran is basically going to therapy at the White House, and Scott McClellan needs to start billing. Paging Dr. McClellan...
