So Cindy Adams writes in the New York Post today that CNN prez Jon Klein, apparently flailing with panic over ratings or in a semi-permanent state of blind delusion over what cable news viewers want, had lunch with professional spoiled brat Star Jones:
THE former panel member of "The View" has not yet seen a rosy view in her future. Her agent, who's been calling around, had CNN news chief Jonathan Klein lunch with her. They seem disinclined to bounce Soledad O'Brien or Anderson Cooper for Mrs. Al Reynolds, but the random thought was that maybe they might weasel her onto some CNN Headline News spot.
Last time I checked, high achievers such as presidents of national news channels don't devote even five minutes to ridiculous-right-off-the-bat non-starters like Star Jones....yet Klein had an entire lunch with a woman about as stable as Courtney Love's drug test results. Which means that he's serious about maybe hiring her, or he's not a high achiever (duh,) or, most obviously, both. A while ago I said that it would be interesting to see who hires Star; it's getting more interesting by the moment.
