Steve Centanni and Olaf Wiig went "On the Record" with Greta Van Susteren last night; here's a recap. I was absolutely glued to the screen, with goosebumps doing intermittent laps all over my body. When Olaf described the psychological warfare the kidnappers used to try to engender Stockholm Syndrome, it makes you furious. The kidnappers were planning to kill Steve, and told Olaf so; Olaf kept this crushing burden to himself until after their release, so as not to stress Steve out. Steve, meanwhile, has a very wry, sharp wit that was evident during the interview, which was a feat when Steve related telling his kidnappers that no, he did not want to make a video, thank you very much, we've seen what happens to captives in Iraq who make videos... then Steve pantomimed his captors laughing while drawing fingers across their throats, saying oh ha ha, no, that was Iraq and Zarqawi, not us...The whole hour went by like it was five minutes; it should have been two hours. Oh, and Greta also interviewed Olaf's indefatigable wife Anita McNaught, who should be named Woman of the Year, in my opinion, jointly with Fox correspondent Jennifer Griffin, who told a story about meeting with all the heads of the local militant Muslim factions in a dark alley in an effort to get info on Steve and Olaf's whereabouts while an Israeli drone flew overhead, causing her to think that they might all die in an airstrike. That story alone puts every Hollywood movie, Syriana etc., to absolute shame. Ken Centanni talked about getting the news that Steve was abducted on the morning of his birthday....there was a lot in the interview but still not enough. FoxNews.com has the entire video of the interview: WATCH.
