The reporter, Jamie Schuman, refers to Turner as "sappy," observing that "Those hoping to hear CNN founder Ted Turner discuss media and politics--the advertised topics of his talk at Duke University on Monday--were mostly out of luck." Instead, Turner talked about his new restaurant chain and criticized America.
