As some of you know, I'm, like... all about Persona 3 right now. I don't want to say too much about it, because I'm covering it in my next Paste review (where we sell steaks to vegans), so for now, suffice it to say that it might be "the better RPG", at least in a lot of important ways, that I'm always pining for.
The official release of the game's been held up since mid-August because it's selling with an art book, which should come as good news to those who miss the days when games came with all kinds of neat crap bundled in. I've already got the game, but I just might buy it again in order to score the book -- the art's fab, if you like that sort of mod-hip anime (which I do). Anyway, I was scouring Google looking for some good fanart-- the game's been out in Japan for quite a while now, and some really sharp Eastern pens have already been hard at work on some sweet sketches, like the above picture of takes-her-gunshot-under-the-chin-cutie Yukari Takeba. Dunno who drew it.
However, I also found this:
It was from, I think, a German online pharmaceutical retailer, and I believe it's a contraceptive. I don't speak German, but WorldLingo translated the blurb thusly:
Persona is a natural preventing method, which determines the fruitful and unfruitful phase in the cycle by hormone measurement. The Persona system consists of test sticks and a handy minicomputer.Ah, the old "rhythm" method. Yeah, that crazy Kirimiya bitch on Yume Miru Kusuri told me it wasn't her "right time" either, and then guess who shows up pregnant? Anyway, this snicker-inducing Persona image was not really what I was looking for, sort of like that scene in YMK where you and your girlfriend choke the school bully until she messes herself. Was that supposed to be erotic? God, I don't even know anymore.
