Seton Motley, communications director of the Media Research Center--mrc.org being an absolute must-read resource for Cable Gamers--recalls that back in 2006, CNN didn't think it was any big deal that the President was being compared to Adolf Hitler. In fact, back then, CNN was happy to pass along the POTUS=Hitler comparison without any sort of critical comment.
Of course, back then the President was George W. Bush, so from an MSM point of view, the comparison was fine. But now, of course, the President is Barack Obama, so it's a completely different story.
And here's what former CNN reporter Susan Roesgen had to say back then, reporting from Katrina-afflicted New Orleans:
"City officials aren't the only ones wondering when federal money will materialize. Catholic school girls marched on Jackson Square. They and their teachers say more money is needed to fix the levees, and they hoped the President would stop by after his meeting with business leaders. But while a look-alike showed up with a wad of cash, Mr. Bush did not."
if you watch the video, you will see that the Bush=Hitler comparison didn't bother Roesgen in the least--indeed, she obviously mostly approved of it. Nor did a Bush=Devil comparison seem to trouble her.
Happily, Roesgen is no longer at CNN. Her lefty politics, and/or contempt for ordinary Americans, got the best of her in April, when she blew up at Tea Party Day protestors in Chicago. She was gone shortly thereafter. Good riddance.
Roesgen was notably only because she couldn't contain herself; there are plenty of others in the MSM just like her, they are just a little bit better at hiding their politics, and their condescension.
A little bit better.
