"Fox News ending the year on a record ratings high." The Baltimore Sun's David Zurawik writes:
No TV news organization is ending the year on higher note than Fox News, which has come to totally dominate the the 24/7 cable landscape in 2009.
According to Nielsen, 2009 will be Fox's highest rated year in its history of 13-plus years. The audience for Fox News has never been larger in total viewers both for prime time and the entire day.
Fox News is now the third highest rated channel in prime time among all cable outlets. By comparison, CNN is 23rd and MSNBC is 24th among all viewers.
With apologies to Stanley Kubrick's classic movie "2001," the other rivals can thump their chests and throw bones, but Fox leads way.
