There's no doubt that Barbara Walters is a liberal, and the same with most of the rest of the "View" crew, but Walters always puts on a good show.
And there's no doubt that John Stossel is a libertarian, but he is a compelling TV performer, as well as an intellectual leader.
And so on her ABC program, Walters recently hosted Stossel as he made his first appearance on ABC since he, Stossel, left ABC for Fox Business News last year. The show got a little heated, but that's good, not bad.
And in any case, there have obviously been no hard feelings, on either the Fox side or the ABC side.
By contrast, I won't hold my breath to see Conan O'Brien as a guest on Jay Leno's revived "Tonight Show." And I won't expect to see Jeff Zucker invited to either Jay's or Conan's next Christmas Party.
