The Wrap's Sharon Waxman reports that NBC-U has made a deal with Conan O'Brien. Conan will go away, in return for $30 million, Sharon sez.
But here's something interesting--the ever-lowering profile of Jeff Zucker, who is theoretically in charge of everything that happens at NBC-U. Take a look:
NBCU President and CEO Jeff Zucker, NBCU Television Entertainment Chairman Jeff Gaspin and Co-Chairman NBC Entertainment and NBC Televison Studio Marc Graboff were involved in the final all-night negotiations. The deal was brokered by Universal CEO Ron Meyer, who was brought in on Tuesday, after talks had reached an impasse.
First off, Jeff is thrown in there with various underlings, including rising star Jeff Gaspin. And second, as Waxman writes, "The deal was brokered by Universal CEO Ron Meyer, who was brought in on Tuesday, after talks had reached an impasse."
What's up with that? Jeff, what happened to your mojo?
