Has country singer Toby Keith jumped into bed with the liberal MSM? Or is it just a wormy p.r. person, working for Keith, who wants to get in good with the Liberal MSM by distancing Keith from Sarah Palin and her new TV special on Fox?
Interesting piece in the NYT this morning by reporter-bloggers Dave Itzkoff and Bill Carter. It seems that Keith, speaking through his publicist, Elaine Schock, is distancing himself from his appearance on Fox News tonight on the special with Sarah Palin. In other words, Keith, the country singer, is joining up with LL Cool J, the rapper, to provide ammunition to liberal critics of Fox.
Thanks, Toby. I am sure that your fans will really appreciate your signing on with liberals and Fox-bashers! Either that, are you, Toby, will realize that you are being misled by your publicist. In which case, it's time for a new publicist.
These facts are not in dispute: Keith did the interview with Fox sometime ago, so it was just waiting to be aired. And nobody disputes that Fox notified him, or his publicist, well in advance. So what's the problem? Beats me.
All we know is that Keith and LL Cool J are now on the same side, playing for the same Fox-bashing team. A country-singer patriot, best known for "Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue," and a thug-life rapper, on the same side. Wow.
The Cable Gamer holds out hope that Keith will realize that he has been misled by his publicist, Ms. Schock, and that he will send a letter of apology to Palin and Fox. Or maybe TCG, and all of Keith's other fans, were simply wrong in their admiring assessment of Keith.
