Jeff Bercovici of Daily Finance -- a TCG fave going back to his time with Conde Nast Portfolio -- picks up on the latest on the endless speculation that CNN will merge with CBS, or maybe ABC--or maybe CBS.
As Jeff points out, the real reason for the renewed speculation is the catastrophic fall-off of CNN in the first quarter of 2010. The network has been on the skids for more than a decade, of course, but the downslope is getting steeper.
But we shall have to see: As noted here many times, CNN chief Jon Klein seems to have a mystical hold on Time-Warner CEO Jeff Bewkes.
