Michael Wolff: Liar, Provocateur, or Fool? You Decide.

Michael Wolff, the failed entrepreneur who now runs the hyena-like aggregator, Newser, is at it again, stirring up trouble in a desperate bid to keep himself in the news.   In a column for his much-maligned website, he writes of a "clash" between Fox's Roger Ailes and Rush Limbaugh.  As Wolff puts it:

Limbaugh’s vast publicity—his extroverted expressiveness—rankles Ailes. The idea that Limbaugh might end up as the grand and historic conservative of the time—pretty much the only one who is not on Ailes' payroll—is extremely depressing to Ailes.

These words are just ridiculous--demonstrably not true.  Everybody knows that Ailes and Limbaugh are close personal friends.  Ailes attended Limbaugh's wedding in Florida earlier this month, but as TCG noted last November, Limbaugh flew all the way from Florida, just to attend, and speak at, a New York State Boy Scouts event for Ailes.

So this latest claim of Wolff is bogus; just another attempt to drive a wedge between big shots whom Wolff obviously envies.

But of course, Wolff has been peddling bogus-ness for years.  Remember his specious claim--completely refuted by all the principals, by deed, as well as word, more than once--that Ailes and Rupert Murdoch had grown apart?   The only real upshot of Wolff's allegation was that the people who ushered Wolff into interviews with Murdoch were all pushed out

And now Ailes is stronger than ever.   And Wolff runs a pissant website, from which he is still throwing tiny stones.
