MSNBC, kneejerk leftists, always--Oliver Stone is the jerk this time

The Cable Gamer was clicking around the MSNBC website, and saw this headline, "Filmmaker puts spotlight on Latin America."  That's Oliver Stone, and his film is "South of the Border," a propaganda puff piece about the evil Venezuelan dictator, Hugo Chavez.   But of course, MSNBC doesn't call it propaganda, it just refers to the "spotlight." You know, the way, say, Leni Riefenstahl shined a "spotlight" on Adolf Hitler Propaganda is propaganda, then and now. And those, such as Stone, who have the benefit of our hard-earned freedom should be ashamed of themselves for celebrating those who would take away freedom from their own people--and us, too, if they could figure out how.

As the chyron in the screengrab above shows, Stone depicts Chavez as "generous and courageous." And MSNBC anchor Alex Witt didn't argue.  She knows that she has the Olbermann/Maddow audience, at least some of it, to appease, and that means that she had to just nod and grin while Stone played Walter Duranty to this new Josef Stalin.
