Piers Morgan to CNN: A left-wing activist, too busy propagandizing to worry about the truth. Is he really going to replace Larry King?

Brian Stelter and Bill Carter, two great Cable Gamers, report this afternoon that CNN is likely to hire Piers Morgan to replace Larry King.
So who is Piers Morgan? Most Americans know him as a judge on NBC's "America's Got Talent.
But for openers, according to Wikipedia, his name isn't Piers Morgan--it's Piers Stefan Pughe-O'Meara.
But in addition, it's worth recalling that he was fired from his newspaper-editor job in 2004, for printing fake pictures. But they weren't just any fake pictures, they were fake pictures of British soldiers abusing Iraqi POWs. In other words, in wartime, Morgan chose to run photos that were harmful to the British national interest--and to the American interest, of course. And of course, they were fake photos.
"Sorry . . . We Were Hoaxed," was the headline in the Mirror as Morgan exited. But as CNN (!) reported at the time, six years ago, the UK government, then led by Tony Blair, will likely be relieved by the removal of a "flamboyant and effective editor who had kept up a campaign over the Iraq war and its aftermath."
And now this fellow--an anti-Iraq war propagandist, willing to cut corners for the sake of his propaganda--is going to be hosting a primetime show in the US.
Wow.
Also interesting is that Morgan has had a business partnership with Matthew Freud, the rogue son-in-law of Rupert Murdoch, who spends his time trashing Fox News. Indeed, a Google search seems to show that Freud and Morgan have many connections, social as well as business.
So we can assume that Morgan will have plenty of sources for attacking Fox News. One more reason, TCG supposes, that CNN is hiring Morgan. That and the fact that he likes to dump on America.
