Chilean Miners Story: Fox didn't just beat the cable newsers, Fox beat the broadcast networks. Repeat: Fox beat the broadcasters!

TVByTheNumbers.com is a great service--invaluable to all Cable Gamers.  But sometimes, in its devotion to getting all the numbers figured out, TVBNT underplays the big news.

So in this story, summing up the ratings for the Chilean miners story, posted on Thursday, TVBNT's Bill Gorman got his facts right--Fox News had nearly twice the audience as CNN and MSNBC combined . . .

. . .but left it as just an aside that Fox also beat some of the broadcast nets.  I mean, that's a pretty big deal!  No offense, Bill, but that should've been the lead!!

The Cable Gamer is old enough to remember when cable was said to be for niches only, now, to look at these numbers, the niches are the broadcasters, especially NBC, the faded peacock.

By comparison, we can look at Fox's numbes for 8 pm, and we see that Fox beats NBC, Fox broadcast, Univision, and CW.  That's four of the six broadcasters.

Once again, TVBNT had the data, they just underplayed what should've been the headline.  That's why TCG is around, I guess, to keep things in their proper perspective!
