The Spike was a novel from 1980 about the efforts of liberals to "spike" negative media information commentary about the Soviet Union and other communist countries. Even information about communist subversion of the US got the spike. Liberals hated the book, of course--but they hated it for the truths it told.
Now, Andrew Breitbart could update that book--he has just been Spiked from ABC News' election coverage. Spiked by the same liberal mindset that thinks that there should be one point of view. Only one.
