CNN and Convergence

CNN may have its problems editorially, but the also-ran cable newser is a consistent leader on the Net.   The mere fact that CNN had a presence at the tres cool South by Southwest conference is a signal that CNN intends to fully play in that space.  And so far, at least, it has the lead.

As Poynter's Steve Myers notes, CNN claims that its page views have tripled since the Japan earthquake.  In addition, CNN claims 750,000 "iReporters."  Not bad.
