Well, not literally yesterday's news: it's more like last week's news. I just noticed that iTunes now offers Podcasting (cached radio broadcasts meant to be downloaded to a portable audio device such as an iPod) of stale CNN Radio broadcasts. I clicked on the latest offering--breaking news as of July 7--and was immediately brought up to date on the possibility of Hurricane Dennis slamming the Gulf Coast. I understand George W. Bush might win the '04 election, too!
Maybe CNN can market its iTunes Podcasts as not news exactly, just extremely fresh history.

Look, the transition from New Media to Newer Media is definitely rocky in this, the Tech Age. CNN has serious badass streaming video capability on its site. MSNBC has zilch streaming vid, and Fox News is somewhere in the middle, coolness-wise, with a cute selection of carefully-chosen clips half-buried in their site. So there will be some inevitable horseracing for the highest TQ--Tech Quotient--in cable news. (All the robots the various networks currently have reading teleprompters in primetime, however, don't count.)
