To paraphrase Ron Burgundy...Stay classy, CNBC

So CNBC anchor Joe Kernen is really getting into his deny deny deny groove about the "Aquaman" thing. Joe is INDIGNANT! He is ANGRY that anyone could think he is capable of such a thing, people! Even when all the evidence points to the contrary, JOE KERNEN IS NOT RON BURGUNDY (Sayeth Joe this morning:)
Kernen complained about the mainstream media's apparent refusal to correct the record....."It was on the radio. It was in Variety. It was everywhere. And now no one will change it. We called the New York Post six times. It's out there. I'm Ron Burgundy." ... Kernen said "the actual truth wasn't as interesting as the fiction, and the fiction is still out there."
Joe made a mistake. A big one. Even though he mentioned "Entourage" in the earlier segment that fateful morning, it's pretty clear he thought "Aquaman" was a real cultural reference within a dramatic series. He had a small window in which to cop to it, but he didn't. If he had, he could have laughed at himself and it would have been endearing. He wouldn't have been Ron Burgundy. But by refusing to admit he made a mistake, now he is Ron Burgundy, and deservedly so. With every new denial, he's paraphrasing Ron: "Go f$%^ yourself, America." Nice going.
