It always fascinates me how we've really developed our own language. Wouldn't it be great to have a sort of gamer's dictionary, complete with term sourcing and etymology whenever possible? Or am I totally left-field here?
No, seriously, bear with me; just look how many words belong only to us, or have special meaning to us that others wouldn't necessarily associate: Die, Lives, Level, Secret, Bonus, Chain, Power, Ability, Technique, Party, Team, Stat, Platform, Overworld, Teleport... not to mention how many game-specific words whose meaning all of us know and yet take for granted: Pellet, Pow, P-Wing, Fire Flower -- and those are mostly just Mario.
Wonder if some future race will show up to excavate the ruin of Earth a few thousand years from now and spend all this time mining our artifacts to decipher what role "Save Crystals" played in human civilization.
