In response to withering criticism of its longtime marquee figure, Larry King, CNN has put together a video on its website, asking "When was the last must-see Larry King interview? Last night." The clip shows King interviewing everyone from Michelle Obama to the Dalai Lama. But I don't think any of those interviews were last night.
In any case, CNN is now rallying to King's defense. The Cable Gamer has always assumed that CNN would cut King loose when his contract expires, and maybe this video was just a temporary exercise in damage control.
Or, who knows, maybe CNN wants to keep King, perhaps because they can't figure out who to replace him with.
