Page Six takes on Keith Olbermann over corporate brown-nosing, something Olbermann is not usually accused of doing. Over the past few years, the usual pattern is that all the suits at MSNBC have to brownnose Olby, but I guess lower ratings have him thinking that he better stay in good with his bosses, especially now that Comcast is coming.
Here's the good stuff from Page Six, reporting on the fight between the great--albeit liberal--WaPo TV critic Tom Shales and ex-MSNBC-er Allison Stewart, who is married to Olbermann's boss:
But when the MSNBC bloviator named Washington Post TV critic Tom Shales his third "Worst Person in the World" the other night, Olbermann neglected to tell his viewers that Stewart, who used to substitute-host for him on "Countdown," is married to Bill Wolff, the cable channel's vice president for prime-time programming.
"While he's attacking people's ethics, he himself is guilty of a huge oversight. He's intentionally misleading viewers," Shales told us. "Stewart is more than a colleague. She's his boss' wife. It's a deliberate deception."
So while Olbermann does what he must to keep his job, Inside Cable News offers a terrific roundup of the challenges facing MSNBC's daypart programming.
And as usual, Chickaboomer wraps it all up nicely.
