Robin Meade is Kicking It--Not That the New York Times Would Notice

The Cable Gamer has always liked Robin Meade of HLN.   Robin is always bright and cheerful, while at the same time, serious about the news.  A great combination.

And because Robin has so little political slant--unlike, say, the horrible Joy Behar--Robin's show "Morning Express," does not get the buzz of liberal shows such as "Morning Joe," and, of course, Behar's show.

Now of course, some might say, "Hey, Cable Gamer, Joe Scarborough is a former Republican Congressman."   And that's true, he is a onetime GOPer--and he has been dining out on that ever since, knowing that his past Republican-ness gives him "cred" with the lefties at MSNBC.  So when Joe bashes Republicans, as he does all the time, it has extra punch.   And as for Mika Brzezinski, she is fine, but as Nikki Schwab and Tara Palmeri point out in The Washington Examiner, Robin is beating Joe and Mika, and beating them badly, in the ratings.

But you would never know that crucial fact from the MSM, such as The New York Times, which, taking its cues from MSNBC flacks, does its best to pump up "Morning Joe," as part of its effort to pump up MSNBC.

So Robin struggles along, kicking you-know-what, but not getting any credit from the MSM.   That''s one reason why there's The Cable Game!

Such blatant puffery won't work with viewers, but it might work with advertisers--and more to the point network suits, who usually want to be loved by their friends and neighbors more than they want ratings from the folks in flyover country.
