The New York Times' Jim Rutenberg reports on the larger political role played by Rupert Murdoch and the News Corporation, owner of Fox News.  And this seems to be bothersome to President Barack Obama, who said recently that Fox was "destructive" to America--never mind that Fox was the network that threw cold water on the plan by Terry Jones to burn Qurans last September 11.

Indeed, part of Murdoch's larger role is in support of Obama policy goals, notably "comprehensive immigration reform," which most conservatives--and many Fox News personalities--regard as "amnesty."  But no matter: The Obamans not only hate Fox, but they are now going out of their way to promote their cable lackeys at MSNBC.

Which brings us to this fun quote from Rutenberg's piece:

An executive at Fox News who agreed to be interviewed on the condition of anonymity expressed "astonishment" over Mr. Obama's focus on the network. "We are so in his head," he said. "Can you believe with all the other things going on in this world he's preoccupied with Fox News?"

Yes, it is kind of amazing, to think that Obama said that Fox is "destructive" to America.  All of which inspies The Cable Gamer to try to imagine the way that hatred of Fox is warping thinking at the White House, at the highest levels--see my illustration above.
