Larry King starts dumping on his successor Piers Morgan

Larry King seems to be paying more attention to the 9 o'clock hour now, when he's off the air, than he did when he himself was the host of "Larry King Snooze"--I mean "Larry King Live."   As King told TVNewser's Alex Weprin, CNN "oversold" Piers Morgan, King's puffy successor.   King conceded that Morgan was a "fine broadcaster," but added, “One of the problems [CNN] did was oversell it, he was going to be dangerous, he was going to be water-cooler talk, wait till you see me! He is good, but he is not that dangerous.”

King is absolutely right, of course.  But what's interesting is that King would feel free to say such words--which are basically criticisms of both CNN and Morgan.  King is, after all, still under contract with CNN for unnamed "specials."   But TCG predicts that others will join in the backbiting.
